28 से चलेगा पल्स पोलियो अभियान

पांच साल से कम उम्र के बच्चों को पोलियो से बचाने के लिए रविवार से फिर पोलियो निरोधी खुराक देने का अभियान चलेगा। इसको लेकर जिलाधिकारी मनीष कुमार वर्मा की अध्यक्षता में कलेक्ट्रेट में गुरुवार को बैठक हुई।

बैठक में जिलाधिकारी ने पिछले पल्स पोलियो अभियान के कार्यों की प्रगति की भी समीक्षा की। समीक्षा के दौरान पाया गया कि अभियान में लगे कुछ अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों ने ठीक से 

कार्य नहीं किया था। इस पर कड़ी नाराजगी व्यक्त करते हुए उनके खिलाफ कड़ी से कड़ी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। जिलाधिकारी ने पल्स पोलियो अभियान में हाईरिस्क एरिया वाले क्षेत्रों ईंट, भट्टों, मलिन बस्तियों एवं दूर-दराज के क्षेत्रों में विशेष अभियान के साथ बच्चों को पल्स पोलियो निरोधी खुराक देने का निर्देश दिया है। प्रभारी चिकित्साधिकारियों को सभी एएनएम को ड्यू लिस्ट आवश्यक रूप से उपलब्ध कराने के लिए निर्देशित किया है। आशा, एएनएन तथा आंगनबाड़ी कार्यकर्ताओं जो प्रशिक्षण कराए जाने का निर्देश दिया है। सीएमओ डा. दीपेन्द्र मालवीय ने बताया कि इस अभियान में पांच वर्ष तक के कुल 289110 बच्चों को पोलियो निरोधी ड्राप पिलाई जाएगी। इसके लिए 812 बूथ बनाए गए हैं। अभियान को सफल बनाने के लिए कुल 591 टीमों को तैनात किया गया है। अभियान को सफल बनाने के लिए 17 ट्रांजिट टीम एवं 24 मोबाइल टीम का भी गठित किया गया है। 28 जनवरी को सुबह आठ बजे से शाम चार बजे तक पोलियो निरोधी ड्राप दी जाएगी। 29 जनवरी से दो फरवरी तक घर-घर जाकर ड्राप पिलाई जाएगी। इस अवसर पर सीडीओ हीरा लाल, एसीएमओ डा. हिन्द प्रकाशमणि आदि थे।

Republic Day Celebrations 2018: Here's what's special this year

NEW DELHI: The Republic Dayis celebrated every year on January 26 to honour the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect in 1950.
The celebration is held in grandeur in national capital's India Gate. This year marks the 69th Republic Day of India and like every year, the highlight of the day is the parade that takes place at the India Gate.

This year, the Republic Day celebrations will have 10 heads from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and Brunei - as chief guests.

The 69th Republic Day parade will see participants not only from the Indian Army, Air Force, Navy, but it will also showcase over 700 students across the guest countries performing at the event.


And for the first time, a newly-formed all-woman bikers contingent of the Border Security Force (BSF) will make its debut on Rajpath on Republic Day.
he 27-member BSF women 'daredevils' squad, named 'Seema Bhavani', will showcase their stunts and acrobatics on their 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles.

The Republic Day parade is telecasted live on the public service broadcaster, Doordarshan.

Village of poet who wrote Padmavat wants Bhansali to share profit from the film..

The villagers of the Sufi poet who originally wrote Padmavat, the poem on which Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat is said to be based, have demanded that the producers share a portion of the earnings with them.

Jais or Jayas which falls in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh is the birthplace of poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi. Now the residents want their pound of flesh, reported The Asian Age.

“Since the film is based on Padmavat, Sanjay Leela Bhansali should announce a share of the profit for Jais so that the Jaisi Memorial can be renovated. This town has a school in the name of Jaisi, a research institute, a poorly maintained park and a lone wall that remains from his 16th-century house. If Bhansali gives the money, we can restore the lost glory of the place,” said Mohd Ashraf, a local resident was quoted in the report.

The villagers believe that if the controversy-ridden movie is truly based on Jayasi’s poem then there shouldn’t be anything objectionable in it. One of the villagers, RK Srivastava, said in the report that Jayasi believed in Hindu-Muslim unity and his poem reflects the theme very strongly.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to roll back its January 18 order allowing the screening of Padmaavat in theatres across India.

Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh governments had submitted a plea requesting the apex court to recall its order on the grounds that its release would create "law and order" problems in the two states.

Padmaavat is set to release in theatres on Thursday, however, multiple fringe groups have announced massive protests and asked the authorities to stop its release.

बॉलीवुड के 'दंबग' सलमान खान के चाहने वालों को उनकी शादी का एक लंबे समय से इंतजार है। सलमान के फैंस के लिए वो दिन सबसे ज्यादा खुशी का होगा जिस दिन वह अपनी शादी का ऐलान करेंगे। ऐसे में पिछले कई दिनों से ये खबरें जोर पर थीं कि सलमान शादी करने वाले हैं, लेकिन अब एक बार फिर से उनकी शादी पर विराम लग गया है।

सलमान खान की कथित गर्लफ्रेंड युलिया वंतूर  के साथ उनके रिश्ते लंबे समय सुर्खियों में हैं। ये भी कहा गया है कि दोनों के बीच का रिश्ता प्यार में है। यहां तक कि कुछ दिन पहले ये भी खबर आई थी सलमान जल्द युलिया वंतूर के साथ सात फेरे लेने वाले हैं। लेकिन युलिया ने इसको महज एक अफवाह करार दिया है।

इतना ही नहीं उन्होंने सलमान के साथ स्क्रीन शेयर करने पर भी अपनी चुप्पी तोड़ते हुए कहा कि अभी ऐसा कुछ प्लान नहीं है ना ही सलमान ने अभी ऐसा कुछ सोचा है। युलिया ने यह भी कहा कि उन्हें बॉलीवुड फिल्मों में कोई चाहत नहीं है। ऐसे में युलिया के शादी से इंकान के बाद अब फैंस के बीच फिर से निराशा हो सकती है।

Will Hindustan Unilever's GST provision set precedent for others?

Mumbai: Hindustan Unilever Ltd’s decision to set aside money to compensate consumers for excess tax charged by it has set a precedent for other companies.

India’s largest packaged consumer goods maker earmarked Rs119 crore in the December quarter to be paid to the government because it could not immediately lower prices after the goods and services tax (GST) on several products was reduced on 15 November.

The company has offered to release the money to the Consumer Welfare Fund, run by the department of consumer affairs.

HUL received a notice for alleged profiteering this week, PTI reported on Tuesday. The government has set up an anti-profiteering authority to ensure that tax cuts are passed on to consumers and the benefits are not quietly pocketed by companies.

Other large companies are now considering making similar provisions as HUL because they were unable to cut prices immediately following the GST reductions, tax experts say.

“What HUL made as a provision is more from an audit perspective to make sure they do not show this money as profit but as payment to be made to the government,” said Anita Rastogi, partner at auditor PwC India.

Under GST rules, the central government notified in June last year that any excess profit a manufacturer makes by charging a higher price should be credited to the Consumer Welfare Fund. But there is little clarity on how this transfer should happen and under what circumstances.

“If money is collected (by a company as profit) without passing on the tax benefits, then it will go to the consumer, and if not possible, then the Consumer Welfare Fund,” Sachin Menon, partner and head, indirect tax, at auditor KPMG, said in an interview. “However, guidelines governing this are yet to be issued.”

Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd, which runs McDonald’s restaurants in west and south India, department store chain Lifestyle International Pvt. Ltd and a Jaipur-based trading company are among firms issued notices under the anti-profiteering provision so far, Mint reported on 30 December.

“Actions were initiated immediately but it takes time,” Srinivas Phatak, chief financial officer at HUL, said on Wednesday at a briefing on the company’s December quarter earnings. “There are always pipeline stocks. We advised modern trade retailers to pass on the rate reductions, and these were passed very quickly. Our distributors reached out to more than a million retailers, asking them to pass on the benefits.”

HUL is now waiting for instructions from the government on what to do with the money it has set aside.

Given the ambiguity in anti-profiteering definitions and rules, HUL said it decided to be proactive and voluntarily declared to the Central Board of Excise and Customs that it estimated Rs119 crore worth of benefits should have gone to its consumers. Other companies may do the same.

“HUL has said that it was not able to pass on all benefits immediately, so other companies would have faced the same issue,” Rastogi said.

Most large packaged consumer goods makers, and other companies as well “have started to hold board meetings to figure out how to deal with this situation before the DGS (Directorate General of Safeguards) issues them a notice”, she said.

This could mark the beginning of a large influx of money in the Consumer Welfare Fund that was set up in 1992 to create consumer law chairs at universities, set up Grahak Suvidha Kendras, run projects for consumer awareness, and contribute to state governments’ consumer welfare funds.

According to the latest annual report of the department of consumer affairs, the government provisioned Rs15.50 crore for the fund in FY2016-17 and Rs6.01 crore had been used until 31 December 2016.
